"In times like these, it takes a village, and the village of Harlem needs our help!"
Our universal message is, it’s up to us to take care of our community that is presently under fire, by taking care of those on the frontlines. The time and the need is now!
Standing at the center of the Global COVID-19 pandemic, is America’s most iconic African-American neighborhood! While the rapid spread of COVID-19 is bringing out the best in the community and emergency response teams in Harlem, it also presents real challenges for those who are risking their own lives every day to keep our community safe.
We recognize that our community-based healthcare system is already strained, and now the strain is magnified due to the rapid spread of COVID-19, which health experts warn hasn’t even reached its peak. It is more critical than ever that we ban together to support the men and women who are fighting on the front lines of this war on coronavirus.
What started out as a plan to support and feed the first responders on the frontline at Harlem Hospital has now expanded and is becoming mobile.
Please join organizers of this grassroots effort, CauseWeCareNow HEART, Austria Rodriguez, Cathleen Trigg Jones, Esi Eggleston Bracey, Lori Davis West, and Rae Wright Allen, MD, by making a Tax-Deductible donationto not only show our doctors, nurses, and emergency response teams & the entire community of Harlem how much we care about them but to expand our efforts by taking our model to 9 additional cities in the United States with the goal of raising $100K or $10K in each city. We need to sow and take this model to all cities!
We cannot stand in silence! So, help us build a pathway to engage other people in other communities around the United States.
Target Cities include:
· New York, NY
· Chicago, IL
· Detroit, MI
· Birmingham, AL
· Newark, NJ
· New Orleans, LA
· Los Angeles, CA
· Philadelphia, PA
· Gary, IN
· Cleveland, OH
The money raised will be used to provide meals and aid to emergency room staff, as well as help keep local community restaurants in business during this difficult economic time. All it takes is $10,000 to feed an emergency room staff for 10 days.
Our goal is to continue to support at-risk communities throughout this difficult time. We need everyone to “lean in” and help this initiative move upstream and evolve from community to community.
Funds raised from this campaign will be managed by Trigg House, Inc., a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization founded in 2006. Trigg House has agreed to match the 1st $5000 raised.
"We are in this together, and we will get through it together"
